Dog Mountain

Another amazing day in the Columbia Gorge! Dog Mountain is one trail that any lover of wildflowers must do!Though the peak season for wildflowers is from mid-May to mid-June, God blessed us with an array of flowers still lifting their faces upwards to Heaven. The strenuous hike over 3.8 miles to the summit of Dog Mountain at 2,984’ is rewarded with awe-inspiring views of the sweeping Columbia River, Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens. Except for the soft hum of traffic from the freeway below or the whistle of a passing train, one could almost visualize what it must have been like when Lewis and Clark trekked through the Northwest. Our God is truly an awesome God!
